PROJECT OVERVIEW

Marriott’s vision of the future of travel sees travelers through four distinct stages of their journey: Relaxation, Inspiration, Change, and Accomplishment. With this in mind, we designed an activation to not only symbolize these stages, but rather to guide guests through a journey of their own.
 

CLIENT GOAL

Marriott is currently reinventing its hotels to reflect a belief in the power of travel to foster creativity. With this in mind, they sought a physical embodiment of “Relaxation, Inspiration, Change, and Accomplishment” to install at their experimental “Live Beta” hotel in Charlotte, North Carolina.

OUR SOLUTION

We designed a sleek, geometric wall containing interactive zones corresponding to the four stages of the traveler’s journey. When guests stepped up to the wall, sensors unlocked surprising, multi-sensorial experiences designed to encourage creative expression.

ACTIVATION ELEMENTS

• Relaxation Zone: Heartbeat color display
• Inspiration Zone: Posing and animation response
• Change Zone: “Ink in water” touch projection
• Accomplishment Zone: Geometric sound and light tracing

RESULTS

The Art of Innovation was executed at premiere MH events in Charlotte, London and Frankfurt, Germany and will continue its global journey in 2017. The wall was featured in numerous media stories, and over 2,000 people worldwide have interacted with the wall.
